In a series of meditations, Yemaya Grace Maitri uses samples from the quiet and rarely-noticed, to the most powerful forces in her surrounding coastal environment. Images begin to interact with the audible soundtrack — matching moods with the inaudible forces on screen. surface tension speaks to a world saturated with fast-paced imagery of every imaginable kind — an inundation now being rapidly accelerated by the burgeoning use of Artificial Intelligence. As an antidote to the anxieties of a rapidly changing world, the film immerses the viewer in a realm of wonderment — offered in reverence to the Wild places that remain.
